Model: Kerosene Deluxe

It was really fun shooting this with Kerosene. Normally she's vamped to the max with corsets and stockings and hairpieces. I'm honored that she trusted me to do simple nude photos with her <3

**EDIT 1/27:
Wow, I forget to check DA for a while, and I come back to see a DD :wow:

Thank you!! It's been fun reading through all the feedback and discussion
prompted by my image.

One thing I do want to note is that I feel all the people discussing the model's weight/health are missing that really, it's a bit irrelevant: what makes this photo special is that it's a stripping away of beauty armors--heavy makeup, corsets, other accouterments--which are normally used by Kerosene to create her other works. This photo is less about who she can become through styling, and more about being courageous enough to step out of her comfort zone and trust being photographed as her bare self. It would have been just as special if she had been a thin model making an exception to her standard no-nude rule.
Body comments would have happened either way- she's voluptuous, so she gets the "real woman"/"fat and unhealthy" dichotomy, whereas were she slender, I am positive there'd be the "I'm so tired of stick thin models!/eat a sandwich!" to contend with. Anyone who is photographed nude is subject to judgements about what they choose to do with their body, whether it's "perfect" enough. Can't win. Would you insult an old woman for being photographed nude because she wasn't young and sexy enough? Because this is really what all the controversy is about: be attractive in the way the viewer wants, or be bashed. Gotta give Kerosene props for shooting nude despite all that. Sometimes beauty isn't about how "healthy" (fuckable) you are.

I also think it's an inspiring piece to people who don't have a "picture-perfect" body that they, too, are beautiful." Suggested by ~VAgentZero and Featured by ^Nyx-Valentine )

She is beautiful, her expression shows that she knows it too.
I love the way she looks so confident of her body and her spirit. And her tatoos rocks!
Her eyes shows somehow a vulnerability that is completely unexpected, and it is the most gorgeous thing on the role image. Just gotta love it!

I am actually really tired of seeing people recommend a photo of a heavy person, beautiful or not, and say that she is beautiful because she is brave, or imperfect, or whathaveyou. This woman is beautiful not just because she is brave, and not because she is imperfect--how fucking pretentious can you be?? She is no pity case to love because she is less than perfect--by saying that you are implying that she is only beautiful because she dares not to be. Of course, yes, perhaps I'm looking too deeply into the thousands of comments on photos like these, but gods, it's truly infuriating!

She is /beautiful/ because she loves herself, and it shows. The message here isn't 'if you don't have a picture-perfect body, you can still be beautiful'--it is, /love/ and /trust/ yourself and you'll find the beauty that was always there. This woman is truly beautiful, in body, in spirit--can't we praise that instead? Skinny or heavy, if you love yourself, you will look beautiful. If you don't, no matter how dolled up you are, it will show. Like those terribly skinny models who never seem to be able to smile... or those horrifically obese women who can't be bothered to love themselves enough to take care of basic hygiene. Neither of these types of women are beautiful--but they always could be in their unique ways.

And frankly, she's not that heavy--she looks /lovely/. She looks both strong and vulnerable. She looks like a woman.

And I love this photographer. The lighting in this--guides your eyes gently through her form, to each curve, deep or subtle. Makes you look twice, as a friend of mine said. It focuses not on her sexuality, or her tits and ass, but rather the whole of her, and makes you /look/ at her. And you see her. And gods, she's beautiful.
